Choose the course format that suits you
We offer two face-to-face course formats. Our courses run as Express by default, which focuses on practical assessment for students who already practise first aid skills regularly. If you'd prefer guided practice and skill development before assessment, the Standard course is also available.
What is the Express course?
The Express face-to-face course runs over a shorter duration and focuses on completing the practical assessment.
This format is designed for students who already hold relevant first aid experience and apply hands-on first aid skills regularly. To get the most from this option, students are generally expected to have previously completed a first aid course and to currently practise first aid skills through their workplace, role, or regular workplace training.
Because the Express course concentrates on assessment rather than skill development, students who find they need additional training to demonstrate competency may be advised to undertake further training, such as the Standard course. Any additional training required to support a student to reach competency may incur an additional fee. This will be discussed transparently before any further training is provided.
All students must demonstrate the required skills and knowledge and satisfactorily complete all assessment requirements to be deemed competent.
Book ExpressWhat is the Standard course?
The Standard face-to-face course runs over a longer duration and provides comprehensive training in the underpinning skills and knowledge, followed by practical assessment.
This format is designed to support students who would benefit from guided practice and skill development before undertaking practical assessment. It allows time to build competence and confidence in hands-on first aid techniques under the guidance of a qualified trainer.
Because first aid qualifications are generally recommended for renewal every three years, students who do not regularly apply first aid skills in their workplace may find the Standard course a suitable option to refresh and practise their skills prior to assessment.
To be deemed competent, all students must demonstrate the required skills and knowledge and satisfactorily complete all assessment requirements.
