Terms and Conditions

By enrolling in a course offered by Shield Training Group, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by the terms of our terms and conditions.

If you have any questions or require further clarification, please don’t hesitate to contact us at contact@shieldtraininggroup.edu.au or call (02) 9437 4379.

  • a) Shield Training Group is committed to providing the best service in a timely manner. We aim to accommodate your needs.

    b) Unfortunately, when a learner cancels without giving adequate notice, it prevents another learner from being served. This cancellation policy is used as a way of respecting the time commitment of all involved. It explains the process for requesting a cancellation and the fees applicable. This policy is used in fairness to both our business and the learners who would otherwise have wanted a spot in a class.

    c) We are implementing a straightforward cancellation policy to be upfront about all the costs you may face when engaging our services.

  • a) We understand situations can arise in which you must cancel. Due to limited class availability, we request that you cancel with adequate notice. This allows us to fill that class slot.

    b) You may cancel by contacting us by:

    i) Phone (02) 9437 4379;

    ii) Or email contact@shieldtraininggroup.edu.au.

    c) We require a minimum of 3 days' notice for cancellation. Please inform us by 4pm 3 days prior to your scheduled class to notify us of any changes or cancellations.

    d) All references to cancellation of class in this clause are also a reference to rescheduling of class.

  • a) Learners who cancel their enrolment part way through a training program must notify STG in writing via email or letter at the soonest opportunity.

    b) Learners who cancel their enrolment after a training program has commenced will not be entitled to a refund of fees.

    c) Learners are advised to consider alternative options such as requesting to suspend their enrolment and recommencing in another scheduled training program.

    • Requests for refunds must be made in writing via email to contact@shieldtraininggroup.edu.au and include the reason for cancellation.

    • Refunds will be issued according to the following schedule:
      - Full refund: Requests received 7 days or more before the start date of the course.
      - 50% refund: Requests received 3 days to 7 days before the start date of the course.

    • No refund: Requests received 24 hours or less before the start date of the course, or for any cancellations made after the course has commenced.

    • Refunds will be processed within 7 days of receiving the cancellation request.

    • Please note that any transaction fees incurred during the refund process will be deducted from the refunded amount.

  • a) There are circumstances where a learner may finalise their enrolment early for personal or academic reasons. Where this is the case, the learner is requested to complete the form Application for Course Deferment / Transfer / Withdrawal. This provides the learner the opportunity to specify their reasons and select to indicate their preference to defer their enrolment, to transfer their enrolment to another course or to terminate their enrolment altogether.

    b) Where the enrolment is being deferred or terminated, learners will be issued a statement of attainment to recognise the outcomes they have achieved during their enrolment.

    c) A learner who defers and returns to complete a course will be eligible to recommence their training and receive a credit transfer for any completed units of competency.

    d) The Chief Executive Officer will review these applications, where possible is to interview the learner to understand their circumstances and is to record their decision using the section provided on the application. Learners are to be informed of this decision in writing.

  • We understand that plans may change due to uncontrollable and external circumstances. Missed class can be unintentional or may stem from an emergency, etc. Therefore, subject to approval by Shield Training Group.

  • By using our services you understood and consented to this Cancellation Policy and Terms and Conditions.

  • Shield Training Group reserves the right to amend the conditions of the learner’s enrolment at any time. If amendments are made that effect the learner’s enrolment the learner will be informed 7 days prior to changes taking effect.

  • If Shield Training Group cancels or ceases to provide training, STG must issue a full refund for any services not yet provided. The basis for determining “services not yet provided” is to be based on the units of competency completed by the learner and which can be issued in a statement of attainment at the time the service is ceased.

As an example: A learner enrolled in a course of 10 units of competency and paid $1,500.00 up front as the total course fee. The course was cancelled due to the trainer falling ill and the learner at that time had completed 4 of the 10 units. The learner’s enrolment would be finalised and the learner would receive a Statement of Attainment for the 4 completed units. The learner would also receive a refund of $900.00 which represents that value of the training not delivered.

    • If you are unable to attend the course for which you have enrolled, you may request to transfer your enrolment to a future offering of the same course, subject to availability.

    • Requests for transfers must be made in writing via email to contact@shieldtraininggroup.edu.au at least 7 days before the start date of the original course.

    • Transfers will be subject to a 20% administrative charge.

    • If the course fee for the future offering is higher than the original course fee, you will be required to pay the difference.

    • Transfers are valid for up to 2 months from the date of the original course enrolment.

  • Requests for substitutions are to be made in writing and can be made at any time up to 2 working days before the program commencement date.

  • Fees are payable when a learner has received a confirmation of enrolment. The initial fee payment must be paid prior to commencing training or within 10 days of receiving an invoice from Shield Training Group. Shield Training Group may discontinue training if fees are not paid as required. For a full list of current fees and charges please request a copy of Shield Training Group schedule of fees and charges.

  • Failure to attend the course without prior notification will result in forfeiture of all fees paid.

    • Shield Training Group reserves the right to cancel or reschedule courses due to insufficient enrolment, instructor illness, or unforeseen circumstances.

    • In the event of cancellation by shield Training Group, participants will be notified as soon as possible, and all fees will be refunded in full.

  • Exceptions to this policy may be granted on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of Shield Training Group Management.
